Guro Stool Mask | Cote d’Ivoire

Description

The Guro people live in Cote D’Ivoire and unlike the natural colored masks of many tribes, they make brightly colored and intricate masks reflecting important elements of their culture.  These can include power animals like ram horns, sheep horns, crocodiles or birds.  Some of these masks are used for entertainment while others are used in more sacred ceremonies.
